2011 Sketchbook Homecoming: Meet the Artists!

Good tidings dear Sketchers!

Following on from our last post in which we waxed lyrical about the 2011 Sketchbook Project Homecoming at the Brooklyn Art Library, we’ve decided to share some more memories from a few of last year’s participants. Ladies and gentleman, meet Raul, Jennie and Amy…

Who are you? Raul Morales

Where are you from? NYC, formerly from Argentina

What do you do? Express myself, sometimes with art and I pay my rent as a copywriter for the advertising industry.

What did you get out of taking part in the Project? It was fun, challenging and felt like a sort of commitment to complete an official project.

Who are you? Jennie Yin

Where are you from? New York

Why did you sign up for the Sketchbook Project? Therapy - It was a way to deal with my dog’s health (he had congestive heart failure) so… my book is obviously dedicated to him.

What did you get out of taking part in the Project? My dog has since passed away. I’m glad I did this since I feel somehow he’s found a way to live on.

Who are you? Amy Grein

Where are you from? Baltimore, Maryland.

What do you do? Chiropractic Assistant/Aspiring Medical Illustrator

Why did you sign up for the Sketchbook Project? For fun, exposure and possible networking.

Nice one guys! It was such a pleasure meeting you, and hearing your wonderful stories about what you took away from taking part in the Project. Here are some more snaps of Saturday’s crowd from our photobooth. Strike a pose!

Now it’s time for us to start working on next year’s tour! Keep up to date with all the 2012 Tour deets right here.

- Fiona.
